Hi, I'm Erin. Life yanked me kicking and screaming from the fast-paced world of beauty and journalism and planted me firmly in the middle of the briar patch. Decades later, I'm back to my truck-driving, country-girl, farmer roots in my designer heels. It's been years since I had a best-seller and my agent forgot my name. I'm still publishing magazine articles and playing a bit in the salon when I'm not armpit deep in the dirt. Here is what happens when two worlds collide.

Prepper Camp 2016
Humans have been prepping since the beginning of time. In biblical times, we store grains and beverages. Farmers have preserved their harvests and protected seeds from one season to the next. We have built root cellars, barns, storage sheds, and filled pantries.
Only in the last century, have we lost sight of preparedness and become accustomed to collecting junk that leaves us broke and feeling empty. Our houses are huge, our debts are mounting, and we can't seem to stop the flood of mindless consumption that has taken over out lives.
"We are what we were when." I don't know who said it but I think it's accurate.
I was an accounting and business major but tracking the dollars has always come second. Instead, tracking and making sure resources went un-wasted dominated my career trajectory.
Making the most of Earth, our people, and our time has brought me more joy than I ever imagined.
We recently got back from Prepper Camp 2016, where we learned more skills to help us live a resourceful and productive life. This five-day journey was packed with classes and practice.
Over the next several weeks, I'll be blogging about what we learned and how it fits in with our day-to-day life as stewards of all that has been provided.
